Rhonda McPeck, Chris Knobloch and Shirley Friedl had the privilege of working together this year to compile the series, “MONSTERS IN YOUR LIFE.”  We used 1 John 5:4, as the theme verse, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”  The theme song supports that message with the words; “I’ve got power that you can’t see; God is living inside of me; I can fight any enemies; CAUSE GOD AND I MAKE A MAJORITY!

The Bible stories depict the life of Joseph and his unwavering faith, uncompromising loyalty and surrender to God alone.   Joseph’s life is filled with examples that will teach the boys and girls how they can live a victorious Christian life bringing glory to God.  As we look at some of the trials that Joseph endured we will compare them to experiences Christ went through many years later when He came into this world. The boys and girls will see that it was because of Joseph’s and Christ’s obedience and humility that incredible glory was brought to God.
 
Our puppets will illustrate our need to rid our lives of the “monsters” of Jealousy, Fear, Worry, Anger, and Pride.  God’s Word holds the answers, and it is to the Bible that we will be pointing the kids.  These are very real problems and feelings that kids experience every day, and we hope that the practical application of God’s prescriptions will change the lives of the boys and girls with whom we will come in contact with this summer.  But wait – these are lessons that are equally good for adults (and sometimes even more needed!)  For that matter, I wonder what God is going to teach me this summer.  hmm…..
